- MAKING YOUR MICROSOFT MOUSE WORK
-
- There have been several problems reported lately with
- the Microsoft Mouse. The most common has been that the
- computer will lock up after a CTRL-ALT-DEL. Nearly all of
- these problems are caused by the interupt jumper on the
- Mouse card being in the wrong place.
- There are four positions, INT 2,3,4 & 5. It is usually
- shipped with the jumper in position, but this may vary. The
- table below shows what position the jumper should NOT be in
- for different setups. It will often work with the jumper in
- more than one position.
-
- If You have..... Do NOT use pair:
-
- IBM-PC with fixed disk 5
- IBM 3270 PC with fixed disk 5
- IBM PC-XT 5
-
- Asynchronous or binary synchronous
- communications adapter
- : First serial port (COM 1) 4
-
- Same, except 2nd serial port (COM 2) 3
-
- IBM PC-AT (all) 2
-
- IBM 3270 PC 2
-
- Note that some setups may exclude all but one
- or two positions. For example, the 3270 with a hard
- disk and a Modem in COM1 cannot use 2,4 or 5. The
- jumper must be in position 3 for this setup.
-
- I hope this helps solve any problems with the
- Mouse. If you have any questions leave me a note on
